Dead Heat by Patricia Briggs
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed it. It was nice to meet Leslie again. I learned something about horses. The evil fae was a bit dull in the end. Although the battle was good. The drama with Maggie was a little tiresome. Charles with kids is cute.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, this is a book with a plot! Interesting things happen in every chapter.
And all of the characters, even the small ones on the side, have personalities and come to life right off the page. Even the horses.
It is vivid, it is fun, it is a little too sappy and sweet at times, it has tension, scary wolves and even scarier fae. Great stuff. This is actually a lot better than the last Mercy Thompson book I read.
Excellent.
